SCA:
My first event was Bearwood's Prehibernation Feast in Nov 2003. I became Minister of Arts and Sciences for the Barony of Aquaterra in September 2004 (I stepped down December 2006). I have been co-event steward (I hate the word autocrat) for Boar's Hunt 2005 and Banner War 2006. When Rosamund and Wyll became Baron & Baroness, I joined their retinue, and became head lady in December 2006. With my lord and some of my closest friends, we formed the household Circle of Friends (which, as an Irish persona, I call Cearcall Charaid) - our first event as a household was 40-Year Celebration. I am a Courtier in Aquaterra's Sergeantry.
Gaelic:
In 1998 I started taking Scottish Gaelic classes, and was elected to the Board of Directors of Slighe nan Gaidheal in October of that year. I have been on the Board since, and have held 4 of our 7 offices: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. I have helped organize countless weekend events, as well as worked on the team that put together Sgoil na Piopa (a 3-day bagpipe/song workshop). I was co-producer and costume designer for the choir's rock opera Am Ri Teachd in 1999 and 2000. As a member of the Feis Committee, I have helped produce our biggest event, the biennial weeklong festival of classes and céilidhean called Féis Shiàtail. I have been co-chair of this festival in 2002, 2006 and 2008.
Real World:
I have a BA in English Literature. Once upon a time I earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do (though I have let this interest and skill slide). I am an Executive Assistant for a management consulting firm in Seattle. I have worked in office support since college, doing a variety of things like travel, event planning, investor relations, facilities, bookkeeping, desktop publishing and a bit of system administration.
